Common Questions and Answers
1. Weeks 4 and 10 are designed for novice students and those seeking to deepen their clinical skills.
Ideal for people interested in the entire training program or immersive learning environment – 12 Student minimum*
2. Courses may be taken individually and do not need to be completed in sequence. This includes 2025 schedule.
3. Numbering is for reference only and is intended to help guide those pursuing the full training program.
4. Orthopedic modules are progressive and recommended to be taken in sequence, especially for newer practitioners. This includes weekend 1-5 (orthopedic) weekend 6-11 are focus on internal disharmonies.
5. Introductory courses (i.e. Tuina Hand Techniques and Qigong Class 1-3) are highly recommended for all practitioners to deepen foundational skills and enhance proficiency.
6. PDAs/CEUs: All classes will be submitted to the NCCAOM® and qualifying classes to the NCBTMB®. The following classes do not qualify for NCBTMB® credit - Qigong, Herbal and Dietary.
Bill Helm, AOBTA® Certified Instructor
Bill Helm is the Director of the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego and Senior Faculty at Eastern Medicinal Therapies Education Center.
An ordained Taoist Priest, Bill has been studying Chinese martial and healing arts since 1965. He specializes in Taijiquan, Tuina Chinese Bodywork, Qi Gong and Herbal Medicine. Bill is a 20th generation Indoor Disciple of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang and holds a 6th Duan Wei from Chinese Wushu Association.
Bill has also studied with Taijiquan Master Chen Xiaoxing, Master Chen Zhiquang, Master Ren Guangyi and Master Chen Bing. Bill travels periodically to Chen Village for focused practice of Chen Style Taijiquan. He studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in China at the Shanghai College of Medicine and the Beijing Olympic Training Center, and in the United States with Taoist Master Share K. Lew and Dr. Yu Da Fang.
